government

the klingon empire is  ruled by council.  The High council is headed by a chancellor,, currently martok.  the members of the high council are from prominent houses.  the government, much like the culture as a whole, is steeped in  heredity.

The Chancellor is determined by the rite of succession or can be challenged to fatal combat.  whoever wins  becomes the head of the klingon  empire.

mating
Family is of utmost importance to klingons.  Mating rituals have become a very big deal for them.  klingon intimacy can sometimes be difficult for outsiders to understand, or in some cases, survive.  a klingon mating ritual usually begins with one partner making some rather aggressive  overture to the other party.  The instigating party will bite their intended  to begin mating.

KLINGONS ARE A VERY PASSIONATE, AGGRESSIVE SOMETIME VIOLENT PEOPLE, THEIR PERSONAL LIFE IS NO DIFFERENT.   kLINGON COUPLES CAN APPEAR SNIDE, COLD OR EVEN RESENTFUL TO THOSE THAT DON'T KNOW THE INNER WORKINGS OF THE KLINGON HEART.    THEY ARE VERY LOYAL & FIERCELY PROTECTIVE  TO THEIR  FAMILIES.

Klingon weddings are beautiful ceremonies,  with several days of traditional trials & buildup.  The male gathers with his closest male friends & relatives to travel the path to kal'hyah, a symbolic /spiritual journey.  This 4 day ritual involves a number of physical rigors including fastind, pain, bloodshed & symbolic death.    the memories of song & fellowship are meant to prepare the groom for the glorius battles of marriage.

The pre-wedding festivities can be just as difficult for the prespective bride.  she must meet the approval of the matriarch of her soon to be family.  The bride will present her mother-in-law with a welcoming display, ideally of hand formed var'hama candles.  she'll then prepare her a tradiotanl breakfast & go through several days of time honored rituals & challenges to prove her worthiness for the house.
